Description

Like many growing cities, Amsterdam’s increasing demand for electricity is putting a strain on the grid. Afternoon peaks and midday solar surges create imbalances. Increasing reliance on time-varying renewable energy sources exacerbates these problems, potentially overloading the grid and risking blackouts during peak periods. This highlights a common challenge in the transition to clean energy: balancing demand, variable supply and grid capacity. Energy communities could help solve this problem!
