The Comana Craft Village in Romania promotes forgotten rural crafts using natural materials, boosting local employment and tourism. With workshops in woodworking, weaving, pottery and more, it’s a hub for tradition, education and entrepreneurship. Founded by former urban professionals, it’s funded by the Norwegian and Romanian governments. Through sustainable practices and job creation, it revitalises the community and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
Comana Craft collaborated on the EU research project RUBIZMO, which was completed in 2021. The project aimed to discover the key ingredients for fostering entrepreneurship and successful business models in rural areas.
